Andrew McAfee

I came across this post from Andrew McAfee on a recent survey suggesting that only 13% of IT and business professionals rated Enterprise 2.0 tools as critical to their organisation. He goes on to discuss this in terms of a change management issue – with the necessity of E2.0 evangelists acting as change agents. The obvious implication is the importance of culture change as these tools “have no inherent respect for organizational boundaries, hierarchies, or job titles. They facilitate self-organization and emergent rather than imposed structure. They require line managers, compliance officers, and other stewards to trust that users will not deliberately or inadvertently use them inappropriately”.

All good stuff but obviously counter-cultural for too many organisations both small and large.
